Kandy Trekking Tours provides outdoor trekking and adventure experiences in Sri Lanka. We prioritize participant safety while delivering authentic nature tours. By joining an expedition, participants acknowledge and accept these outdoor safety guidelines.
Trekking activities may involve walking on uneven surfaces, forest paths, mountain trails, steep sections, elevation changes, slippery areas during rain, changing weather conditions, and physical exertion over extended periods.
Participants should consider their physical ability and comfort level before joining a trek.
Participants understand that outdoor environments contain inherent natural risks including slips, trips, falls, minor injuries from terrain, fatigue, dehydration, sudden weather changes, falling branches, insects, wildlife encounters, and limited access to medical facilities in remote areas.
These risks are part of outdoor adventure activities and cannot be completely eliminated.
Participants agree to:
Participants should maintain a reasonable level of physical fitness suitable for their chosen activity.
Some mountain treks involve long-distance walking, steep ascents/descents, and outdoor endurance. Participants are responsible for selecting activities matching their physical capabilities.
If you have any condition affecting your ability to participate safely, please inform Kandy Trekking Tours prior to the activity.
Kandy Trekking Tours does not routinely collect private medical records.
However, participants are encouraged to voluntarily inform your guide about important health considerations affecting safety, such as severe allergies, mobility limitations, or asthma. This information is strictly used to assist in providing a safer trek.
The guide has full authority to make reasonable safety decisions during an expedition, including changing routes, adjusting pace, scheduling breaks, ending an activity early, or requesting a participant not continue due to safety risks.
These decisions are made solely to protect the safety of the participant and group.
Sri Lanka's tropical mountain weather can shift rapidly. Rain, heat, fog, strong winds, or slippery trails may affect the trek.
Kandy Trekking Tours may modify, postpone, or cancel activities when environmental conditions create unacceptable safety risks.
Tours take place in natural ecosystems where wildlife exists. Participants must maintain safe distances from animals, follow guide instructions, avoid disturbing wildlife, and never feed or approach animals.
Wildlife encounters in natural reserves cannot be controlled or guaranteed.
In case of an emergency, Kandy Trekking Tours will make reasonable efforts to provide immediate assistance and coordinate support.
Due to remote mountain locations, emergency response times may vary depending on trail position and terrain.
Participants are responsible for bringing suitable personal equipment, including comfortable trekking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, personal medications, water bottles, and sun protection.
Guides may recommend additional items depending on trail difficulty.
Participants acknowledge that joining a trekking activity involves personal responsibility and acceptance of reasonable outdoor risks.
Participants agree to act responsibly and follow guide instructions throughout the expedition.
Photos and videos may occasionally be taken during tours for documentation, memories, or promotional purposes.
Participants who prefer not to appear in photographs should inform the guide beforehand.
